South Carolina Portrait Photographer | Magazine Styled Shoot, Overcoming Fear

I am beyond excited to show you pictures from a little styled session I did a month ago. Rachel with Daughters of Promise¬†¬†contacted me about working as a guest photographer in the March/April issue. Daughter’s of Promise is a non-profit magazine designed to reach out to young women. Geared mostly towards single ladies, there is lots of great content for any woman. I encourage you to check out their website for more information on them and to sign up for a subscription. You can read the March/April 2014 issue here.

I took pictures for 2 articles.

I was given the title to the article, a brief description of the atmosphere of the photos and a color scheme to follow.

Today I will show you the pictures to the Braveheart article about Overcoming Fear.
Colors: Mint, Coral, Brown & White
Atmosphere of photos: Photos of peace and rest because that is what we find when our hearts are trusting in our Heavenly father and not fearful.

My sister kindly modeled for me & mom allowed me to use her room as the backdrop.
My sister and I went to town and searched for anything we could find that worked with our colors and article theme.

I chose a bedroom for the location of the photos because when I am searching my heart and talking to God, its often in the comfort of my own room. It is where I am comfortable and where I can find quietness with myself and God.

Like always, I took far more photos than they could possibly use in the magazine. Some of these you may have already seen if you read the article.

Every teeny-tiny little detail is important to me. Even if a grapefruit has nothing to do with peace. ^

20140215_HJS_148886I hope you are encouraged to overcome any fear that may be controlling your life.
