A little bit of Fall Decor :: Natural Fall Decor :: DIY

Posted by on Oct 30, 2014 in DIY, My Life, Photo Sessions | 2 comments

Fall in the south is not as distinct as Fall in the North. Last week I noticed a few small trees in my woods were actually turning a few shades of orange and red. I picked a few branches and threw them in a white pitcher for a little bit of Fall inside the house. This year, we aren’t going to have much by way of Fall decorations. I am ok with that. Our schedule just hasn’t allowed me to take time to do that. A few days later I noticed that my sage and lavender plants were beautiful and decided to make a few wreaths before the frost hits them. Sadly, their beauty only lasted a day before they wilted on me. They are still hanging, in all of their wilted glory...

St. Augustine, FL :: A Little on Vacation & Goals

Posted by on Oct 25, 2014 in My Life, Photo Sessions | 0 comments

This blog has been neglected over the past few months. So much for my goal of posting every Tuesday. It was going well for the first 5 months of the year and then my schedule changed. I started working everyday again and by the time I get home there is food to make or clothes to wash or outside work to be done. I am ok with the change of schedule for a few months. When the new year hits, my schedule should slow down again and i’ll once more make it a priority to post weekly. I have been busy with photo sessions. Especially the past few weeks. I have a lot more scheduled from now until Thanksgiving and i’m really excited about all of the new clients that I...

Celebrating the Bride-to-be | A Green-house Bridal Shower

Posted by on Jun 26, 2014 in My Life, Parties, Photo Sessions | 3 comments

My sister is getting married in 6 weeks. We threw a little party in her honor. I love parties. I love planning parties. I love decorating for parties. I love Coordinating parties. I do not love cleaning up after parties. Now that my dad’s greenhouse is completed, I’ve been itching to throw a party in his back yard. The great thing about outside parties is that you don’t have to do a lot of decorating to make it look fabulous. We used decorations we had on hand and a few friends helped us with the food. Bride-to-be ^^ I made her corsage from flowers I picked around the house. Mini Pink Roses, Lavender, Dusty Miller and Hasta leaves. The Hasta leaves are...

Green & White Color Inspiration

Posted by on Jun 4, 2014 in Color Inspiration, DIY, Fashion, My Life, Old Window Frame, Photo Sessions | 4 comments

I am so excited about this weeks color inspiration combination of Green and White. Green & White feels like a classic to me. Different shades of colors come and go but Green and White are 2 of those colors that are beautiful through any change of color fads. I love spring/summer when everything is lush and green. I could spend all day planting and picking flowers or sitting in a beautiful garden. If you want to bring your love of the outdoors inside, use combinations of Green, White and Brown. My general rule is that every room needs a live plant and my weakness it green plants. It brings life to the room. If you plan to use these colors for your next photo session,...

February 25 Past & Present | South Carolina Portrait Photographer

Posted by on Feb 25, 2014 in Family, My Life, Photo Sessions | 1 comment

I feel somewhat like i’m grasping at straws with my Tuesday posts. Technically I want to post client photos on this day, but it always seems that January and February are quiet months. I have sessions booked for the next few months and I hope to fix this problem. I often like to look back at the past years and see what I took pictures of a year ago today. Today we are going to reminisce a little and show you what i’m working on today. 1 year ago today, I was at a bridal shower that some friends planned for me. ^ I am blessed to have friends like I do. 3 generations at the Bridal Shower. ^ 2 years ago today I was visiting my sister in Jamaica. ^ Our...

Valentine’s DIY Decor

Posted by on Feb 12, 2014 in DIY, My Life, Photo Sessions, Uncategorized | 2 comments

Just a little bit of Valentine’s Decor DIY style. Mostly for me that means “do it with what you have.” This is a photography blog. I know. Its more than that to me. Its about beauty and creativity in all forms. That is what I love. I love decorating my home or a party. I redecorate little spaces every couple of weeks just because its therapy for me. I’m not showing you this because its anything great. Really its not much and its just some paper, strings and a few sticks I snapped off a tree. I’m showing you because its a way that I like to add a little bit of cheer to our home.              I didn’t intend to decorate for...
