How to Use Your Photos as Art in Nursery Decor

Posted by on Nov 23, 2015 in DIY, Newborn, Photo Sessions, Showcase of Client Homes & Art | 0 comments

Its been awhile since i’ve shared a post with you about how to use your photos as art in your home. Its not because I don’t have any to share. There are several clients, whose walls I can’t wait to show you. Today, I have a few quick shots of my friends nursery. The room doubles as a guest bedroom and nursery. She pulled it together beautifully. It is very functional for both spaces. I have said it before and I will keep saying it, I am sad when photos stay on your hard-drive and are never printed or hung on the wall. Enjoy them! Use them as art to personalize your home. Print a photo yearbook. These walls make me happy. I’m not sure on the exact...

A little bit of Fall Decor :: Natural Fall Decor :: DIY

Posted by on Oct 30, 2014 in DIY, My Life, Photo Sessions | 2 comments

Fall in the south is not as distinct as Fall in the North. Last week I noticed a few small trees in my woods were actually turning a few shades of orange and red. I picked a few branches and threw them in a white pitcher for a little bit of Fall inside the house. This year, we aren’t going to have much by way of Fall decorations. I am ok with that. Our schedule just hasn’t allowed me to take time to do that. A few days later I noticed that my sage and lavender plants were beautiful and decided to make a few wreaths before the frost hits them. Sadly, their beauty only lasted a day before they wilted on me. They are still hanging, in all of their wilted glory...

Allie is 1 | DIY Baby Girl’s First Birthday | Montgomery, Indiana Photography | Heidi (Mast) Stutzman Photography

It’s another party! My niece turned 1 in July. (Is it really August already???) Oh she is so precious. Everytime I look at her, I tell her “you look like your momma”. Its true. She is a chunk and her cheeks are just perfect for squeezin’ and kissin’. My husband and I had planned a trip to visit my sister’s family over July 4 this year. After we had scheduled the date, I realized that Allie’s birthday was just a few days after we were scheduled to leave. There is no harm in having a birthday party a little early, so we did. I loved that we were able to celebrate Allie with her family. My sister invited just a few family members...

Green & White Color Inspiration

Posted by on Jun 4, 2014 in Color Inspiration, DIY, Fashion, My Life, Old Window Frame, Photo Sessions | 4 comments

I am so excited about this weeks color inspiration combination of Green and White. Green & White feels like a classic to me. Different shades of colors come and go but Green and White are 2 of those colors that are beautiful through any change of color fads. I love spring/summer when everything is lush and green. I could spend all day planting and picking flowers or sitting in a beautiful garden. If you want to bring your love of the outdoors inside, use combinations of Green, White and Brown. My general rule is that every room needs a live plant and my weakness it green plants. It brings life to the room. If you plan to use these colors for your next photo session,...

Valentine’s DIY Decor

Posted by on Feb 12, 2014 in DIY, My Life, Photo Sessions, Uncategorized | 2 comments

Just a little bit of Valentine’s Decor DIY style. Mostly for me that means “do it with what you have.” This is a photography blog. I know. Its more than that to me. Its about beauty and creativity in all forms. That is what I love. I love decorating my home or a party. I redecorate little spaces every couple of weeks just because its therapy for me. I’m not showing you this because its anything great. Really its not much and its just some paper, strings and a few sticks I snapped off a tree. I’m showing you because its a way that I like to add a little bit of cheer to our home.              I didn’t intend to decorate for...

DIY Headband / Hairbow Organizer

Posted by on Aug 22, 2013 in DIY, My Life, Photo Sessions | 2 comments

We all love a good DIY project don’t we? Well, I LOVE a quick easy project that serves the purpose of keeping stuff organized. I don’t like clutter. It makes me feel like my life is out of control. When my bedroom or bathroom is a mess (aka bed not made, hair stuff all over the counter, etc..) I can’t function. It happens all too often. My sister has a small home and 2 children. There is 1 tiny little room that serves as a closet, guest room & baby room. Its full and always a challenge to keep organized. She picked up this nice big (I think 16×20) frame at a garage sale for $.50. What a Deal. Really I was a little jealous. I told her not to...
